About Dr. Marissa Aron
Dr. Marissa Aron earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She, then, returned to her home state of Florida where she has continued with specialty training in pediatrics and women's health/pelvic floor physical therapy. She ultimately founded Mom & Me PT when it became clear to her that both infants and new moms are lacking the care they need in the traditional healthcare system.
Due to the rapid increase in infant "equipment" used today, problems such as torticollis, flat heads, poor tolerance for tummy time, and delayed milestones have become commonplace. Dr. Aron feels passionately that parents should be educated on tips to prevent these issues. Additionally, because motor development is closely linked to development of the visual, vestibular, sensory and nervous systems, she encourages consistent check-ups for this development just as babies receive check-ups for medical health.
Dr. Aron also feels strongly that women deserve individualized care for issues such as urinary incontinence (leakage), body pain, painful sex, bulging bellies and more after pregnancy and childbirth. These problems are common after having a baby, but this does NOT have to be your new normal! With more awareness and discussion about these topics, she hopes that no woman will have to suffer alone.
When she is not working, Dr. Aron can be found spending time with family, snuggling with her pup Millie, reading at the pool, or doing any exercise from crossfit to boxing to yoga.
